How to connect Shippo

1. Enable the app

In your control panel, go to App Center > Shippo and click Enable App. It’s free on Startup, Pro and Ridge.

2. Connect with Shippo

Go to Manage > Shipping > Shippo and click Connect with Shippo. Sign in to your Shippo account, or create one there and then.

3. Pick your services

Tick the Evri, DPD and DHL Express services shoppers can choose from. Live prices show at checkout straight away, and labels are ready on every new order.

Already have a UPS or Parcelforce account? Add it in Shippo and use it from Freewebstore too.

Postage is paid from your Shippo account, at your Shippo prices. Freewebstore adds no fees and no markup. Your Freewebstore shipping credit stays for Generate Labels and platform fees.

Works with Royal Mail and your own rules

Royal Mail

Royal Mail delivery prices keep working alongside Shippo, so shoppers can pick 1st Class, Tracked 48 or a Shippo courier in the same checkout.

Manual postage rules keep working too, for local delivery, collection or flat-rate offers.

VAT on delivery: choose whether Shippo prices include VAT, have VAT added, or never carry VAT, on Manage > Shipping.

Labels ship from the Ship From Address on Manage > Shipping.

Frequently asked questions about Shippo on Freewebstore

Which Freewebstore plans include Shippo? +
Shippo is free to add on every paid plan: Startup, Pro and Ridge. It isn’t available on the free Community plan. You can build your store on Community and upgrade when you’re ready to connect Shippo.
What does it cost? +
Freewebstore adds no fees and no markup to your postage. You pay for labels from your own Shippo account, at your Shippo prices. Your Freewebstore shipping credit isn’t used for Shippo labels.
Which UK carriers can I use? +
Evri, DPD and DHL Express. You can also add your own carrier accounts, such as UPS or Parcelforce, inside Shippo and use them from Freewebstore.
Can I still offer Royal Mail? +
Yes. Royal Mail isn’t one of the Shippo carriers, but Royal Mail delivery prices (Manage > Shipping) keep working alongside Shippo, so shoppers can pick a Royal Mail service or a Shippo carrier at checkout. You can still post Royal Mail parcels through the Post Office, your own Click & Drop account, or Generate Labels.
What happens to my existing shipping rules? +
Your manual postage rules keep working, and so do Royal Mail delivery prices. Connecting Shippo moves your checkout onto our new shipping system, so the old automatic carrier rates stop showing. Shippo rates replace them.
How is VAT handled on Shippo delivery prices? +
You choose on Manage > Shipping > VAT on delivery charges. The default is that delivery prices include VAT, so shoppers pay exactly the price shown and the invoice splits out the VAT. You can add VAT on top instead, or never charge VAT on delivery if you only sell zero-rated goods. It only applies if your store charges VAT, and only on UK deliveries.
Can I void a label or make a return label? +
Yes, both from the order page. When you void a Shippo label, Shippo and the carrier refund your Shippo account, which can take up to 14 days. A label the carrier has already scanned can’t be voided. Return labels are only charged if your customer uses them.
Where do labels ship from? +
From the Ship From Address saved on Manage > Shipping. If a label shows the wrong sender address, check that page first.
